Passengers arriving from countries on the GOV.UK Amber country list have the option to opt into (and pay for) an additional test at day 5 through the Test to Release scheme.

Passengers arriving from Amber countries may be able to leave quarantine early if they receive a negative day 5 Test to Release result. Regardless of the Test to Release day 5 result passengers are still required to take the mandatory day 2 and day 8 tests.
If passengers do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, they must self-isolate for 10 days and are still required to take the mandatory day 2 and day 8 tests.
